AAU Team Competition

Our AAU program runs from February to July and is designed to emphasize player development. The program breakdown for the various age groups is as follows:

1st Quarter (2nd-4th grade teams)

  • 2-3 team practices per week
  • Monthly basketball skill development and athletic training clinics/training sessions
  • 2-3 local tournaments schedule
  • Practice t-shirts and jersey
  • Experienced, certified coaches and trainers
  • Trophies & certificates for year-end team awards

2nd Quarter (5th-7th grade teams)

  • 2-3 team practices per week
  • Monthly basketball skill development and athletic training clinics/training sessions

  • Monthly newsletter for parents & family to keep up with the teams
  • Media day
  • Mixed tournament schedule between local and regional events (4-5 tournaments)

3rd Quarter (8th-9th grade teams)

  • Everything included in the 2nd Quarter package (except for tournament schedule)
  • Both regional and national tournament schedule to increase athlete exposure (8-10 tournaments)
  • Formal beginning & season-ending player evaluations
  • Biweekly yoga sessions for player recovery, health & wellness

4th Quarter (10th-11th grade teams)

  • Everything included in the 3rd Quarter package (except for tournament schedule)
  • Partial media package included - videos and pictures (add-ons available at additional cost)
  • College recruiting assistance
  • Regional and national tournaments schedule, with the focus being on exposure and high-level competition (7-8 tournaments)

Basketball Skills Training

The Queens Court basketball skills program offers development in basketball skills (i.e. dribbling, shooting, etc.) for various skill levels. By maintaining a focus on the fundamentals, while methodically building on skills & principles as training progresses.

  • Enhancing player IQ through the repetition and mastery of fundamental basketball concepts and tactics
  • Development of basic skills, including but not limited to, ball handling, shooting and finishing

Objectives

  • Core/Baseline – Establishing a minimum stamina, conditioning and strength baseline through basketball-related exercises/activities
  • Stretching/Elasticity – Emphasizing exercises and activities designed to increase flexibility through stretching
  • Power/Explosion – Activities designed foster explosion in transition movements and finishing moves around the rim
  • Quick Footwork – Portion of the program designed to simulate footwork regularly used during basketball activities
